New Year's Resolutions

Untitled

*that's me on the left-most side of the pic wearing black and carrying a fur jacket in a Xmas party

1) work harder -i'm really aiming to learn the ropes in my industry this year. This is the year I hope to become a full fledged *

2) party harder -jeez time just breezed by without me having too much fun.I've actually been very good this year, in terms of partying.

3) spend less on impulsive shopping and save more -nuff said

4) eat less -just because I had a fat and fun Christmas and New Year.

5) spend more time with friends -because I love them and they deserve more of my time and luurv.

6) take more pictures -my digicam got stolen on the last quarter of 2007 (I didn't even know it was my digicam until it got lost haha). This year I'll make it a point to document more parts of my life and have more fun in front of the cam from now on.

7) rant less, bitch less -i realized that there are more things to be grateful than bitchful for.

8) avoid over speeding -I guess I'm not risking my sweet life this year.

9) have more fun -life's too short.

10) dress up nicely everyday -because life's a runway.

11) do something I wouldn't regularly do -I seriously can't think of anything right now. It must be that crazy. Or I must've gotten the boring bug from stressing on work too much. Eek!

12) wake up early -just like college days

13) read and study about my industries in the evening

14) write in my journal daily -it's nice to be able to know about my past self in the future

16) ooh and stop buying shoes! -cos I have too many pairs of shoes it's obsessive

Broke

Guess I'm gonna stay that way, for now (to prevent future piggy bank damage). At least I'm almost done with my wish list.

This is What I Stand For
Posted at 11:27 PM

It's been a grueling first  few weeks of the year and the last thing I need is to have to do a Preview January 2008 search. I've been waiting since last year for that ish, make that waiting patiently. And to my dismay, when I checked online to see whether there's a copy and who's the cover girl (for easy sighting) guess who I see? Well if it isn't another celebrity. GRR. I believe Preview's an intelligent fashion and lifestyle magazine and seriously, it probably sells like pancakes so why the need to use celebrities on the cover? There are so many worthy stylish media personalities, who don't necessarily have to be actresses. I guess I'm just ranting. And no, I have nothing against Marimar or any other telenovela whatsoever. Oh well, still a lovely cover btw.

Out of Ordinary
Posted at 08:34 PM

One of these days I would love to just hop on the mrt or a bus or a jeep even! I should do that some time. i know it would be lovely to learn how to commute alone. Someday soon i shall be able to do it. I've done it in small doses. Kudos to everyone out there who commute! Oh and shout out to Nikki whose blog I stumbled upon.

Time Traveling Circa 2002
Posted at 09:07 PM

Although I'm still in the process of nursing a headache (I've had this going for days), I have no idea why I had flashbacks of Freshman year in UA&P (gawd, I miss school). The time when there was a tug-of-war between the past and the future. One event stood out for me (today that is). It was that moment in freshman year when we had an outreach with less-privileged kids from Pasig, I think, and all we had to do was spend at most, two hours with this kids just plain teaching them stuff such as creating Christmas parols or playing games with them. I wish I had documented pictures of these times. But that was way back in the day circa 2002 (yeah, like that was so long ago no? haha!) Seriously, I wish I took pictures, but I don't recall having pictures taken. One of my regrets in life is not documenting precious or even the simplest, plainest moments in my life with photographs. I wish I could turn back time. Incidentally, those were the same moments where I got close to Pam, who at that time I believed was my soul sister. Sigh. Time has breezed by so quickly, and with its breeze it blew away so many precious memories, and changed me and all of us with it. Oh well, it's nice to look back on these beautiful memories.

Gossip Girls
Posted at 08:43 PM

Ever had the feeling that someone is spying on you and listening to you and your friends' conversation while you sip lattes on...

No wonder this sounded eerily familiar. I've read Gossip Girl way back in 2003 c/o Pauwie.

Le Moleskine
Posted at 04:26 PM

:: Who Used Moleskine? ::

Henry Matisse (1869–1954)
One of the most important French painters of the 20th century.

Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890)
The master Dutch painter. All seven of his Moleskines are displayed at the Van Gogh Museum of Amsterdam.

Ernest Hemingway (1899–1961)
Considered the most influential writers of the last century.

Andre Breton (1896–1966)
French poet, essayist, critic, editor, chief promoter and one of the founders of the Surrealist Movement, has a Moleskine kept in the library of Paul Eluard.

Pablo Picasso (1881–1973)
Acknowledged as one of the greatest painters of his century. Picasso made valuable contributions to art throughout his life, from Cubism to Surrealism.

Bruce Chatwin (1940–1989)
Writer-traveller who picked up on the beauty of the Moleskine pocket journal and was instrumental in making it famous. He had a ritual set up over the years – before using them, he numbered the pages, wrote his name and at least two addresses in the world with the promise of a reward in case they got lost.

Moleskine – A Legendary Notebook

For two centuries now, Moleskine (mol-a-skeen-a) has been the legendary notebook of artists, writers, intellectuals and travelers. Henri Matisse and Vincent van Gogh sketched in a Moleskine, Andre Breton and Ernest Hemingway wrote in theirs, and Bruce Chatwin documented his travels in them. These Moleskine patrons prove to us how simple tools assist inspiration. The well-made, durable notebook was their trusted, reliable companion, so important that Bruce Chatwin said, “Losing my passport was the least of my worries, losing a notebook was a catastrophe.”

Despite the extraordinary tradition of Moleskine notebooks, there was a pause in production in 1986. It was later revived by Italian manufacturer Modo & Modo and the legendary notebook can now continue to accompany many more individuals in their personal journeys. What’s your story?

Dear Mistuh Typrewriter

kate spade ad
It's been beyond a decade since my fingertips last touched a typewriter. I love the typewriter. Compared to the keyboard, I was more careful and accurate with the typewriter (especially when I hadn't discovered the one with the backspace feature). I wonder if our typewriter still exists. This gorge Kate Spade ad just inspires me to unearth our dear old typewriter.
