The Empress
Posted at 04:12 PM

You are The Empress

Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.

The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents, beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.

The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.

Things I Take for Granted
Posted at 06:08 PM

1.  my queen-sized bed that has been very good to me

2.  the decade-young (the term old seems too pessimistic) Civic I use almost everyday (because I prefer to drive a car rather than an SUV - it's a lot easier)

3.  my cellphone (which I use to communicate with our clients, employees, suppliers, my friends, and my boyfriend)

4.  my family (because they've been so kind, understanding, encouraging, supportive etcetera)

5.  my second life after I got into a car accident in late 2005

6.  my brother's second life after he got into a car accident in late 2006

7.  my dogs (because they bring me joy and a sense of calm)

Things I Should Do More Often

1.  be less bitchy

2.  be more responsible with my actions and decisions

3.  wear more make up (ha!)

4.  stop being an impulsive shopper

5.  clean the cars regularly

6.  read more books and manuals

7.  exercise more

8.  see my friends more often

9.  buy less magazines
